There are how many images in my gallery?!
I get it...I'm an over-shooter. I'm a big believer in giving as many options and choices as possible. But, I also know how overwhelming having too many options can be. I'm so sorry! I really am. I just never know what images someone will like. It always seems like my favorite images are my clients least favorite, so I never want to assume that my picks are your picks....which results in too many images.
Now what though?
Put all of your favorites in one place
Having a favorites folder where you can separate all of the images you like from dislike is key. This cuts down on time and decision overload and makes the next step easy and possible.
Go through them as fast as possible
This step is the most important! It's called culling.
You'll need to be able to scroll through the images VERY FAST to get a gut reaction. We're choosing the images based off of feeling rather than stopping to analyze every minute detail.
Start in your favorites folder, have the images as big as you can get them and start scrolling. If you feel something...happy, sad, excited...keep that image. If you need indifferent....it gets removed. PAUSE! If you remove an image and instantly regret it, put it back in the folder. Something in you likes that image, don't ignore your gut feeling.
Repeat
If you still have too many images, keep repeating the culling process until you have a manageable number of your most favorite images. If you can't get it down far enough, it's time to purchase the excess images. No big deal! There are always options.
